Ayurvedic Herb Kukanraudha
Identification of Kukrondha
Kukraundha has a two-feet high small bush, in which the smell of camphor comes. Its leaves are like the leaves of chicory, but they are somewhat bigger and hairy than those leaves. It comes out near the root in the morning and spreads on the ground. By rubbing them, a strong smell like camphor comes from them. On the front of the upper branches, there are small pitabh or sometimes purple colored hairy flower heads. After its flowers bloom, fine fibers like cotton emerge from them. Its seeds are small grayish brown in colour. These shoots grow in the rainy season. They flourish in winter, and dry up by summer. An aromatic oil containing camphor is found in its leaves.
