Ayurvedic Herb Manjishtha
Manjishtha's rags are long and widely spread. That's why it is used for yojanavalli and it is used in the work of coloring clothes. That's why it is also called Vastrinjini. It is mentioned for the treatment of Visarsha or Hapinj in Charak Samhita's Varnya, Vishadhna and Jvarhat Mahakashay. It has been enumerated in Sushruta Samhita's Priyangwadigan and Pittasamshan Dravya. Its stem is branched from all four angles and the root is more rigid. Its root is very long, cylindrical, smooth, red in fresh condition and black in color when dried.
