Identity of Dikamali
Dikamali is a type of gum obtained from a small tree. Its trees are found in mountainous regions, especially in Konkan, Saurashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, etc. Also found in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. This is Manjishthakul, a herbal medicine of Rubiaceae. Dikmali's small tree is 5-6 feet high. Some moss trees are also found 10-15 feet high. Many branches emerge from this tree. These branches and scandals are crooked. Dikatani leaves are 8 inches long. There are small sub-leaves in the middle of the stem of the leaf, its leaves are similar to guava leaves, but they are their bigger leaves. The flowers of Dikamali come in spring, which are white in colour. These flowers are often like Kaner's flowers, which bloom in the evening. Good fragrance spreads from these flowers. After some time these flowers turn yellow and start drying up. Due to the fragrance of the flowers, it is called Malan in Gujarat. The fruits of Dikamali are like mango fruits, but they are small and round, with many stripes on the upper part of the trunk. These fruits have three-four cells. In which there are many seeds. Konkan eats these fruits. Jatha pickle is also made.

Disadvantages of Dikamali
1 Dikamali is not useful for more than one year
2 Using Dikamali in the morning is said to be more beneficial.
Dikamali powder should be given to children below two years of age with mother's cow's milk.
4 Its quantity is also given up to 1-3 grams for abdominal purification, but give aliphatic substances, ghee, oil etc. during its consumption.
