                                             Disadvantages of Tamarind

One thing to keep in mind when using tamarind is that it contains tannins and other compounds, which can make digestion difficult. Hence, it is recommended to consume it after boiling or soaking it in water. Using tamarind regularly can cause damage to the teeth, as tamarind contains acidic elements. These substances can cause dental erosion i.e. damage to the surface of the teeth. Do not use tamarind if you are taking aspirin (pain reliever) or ibuprofen (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug). Tamarind can affect the effect of these medicines. Pregnant or lactating women should avoid excessive consumption of tamarind, otherwise its side effects can be seen. Consuming raw tamarind especially can cause heat in the body
